Michael Miller and Amita Schultes of Colonial Consulting to Present at the FAOG Conference 2015

New York, NY, October 8, 2015 – Colonial Consulting, LLC, a leading investment advisor with a core focus on non-profits, is pleased to announce that Managing Director Michael Miller and Managing Director Amita Schultes, Ph.D. will be presenting at the FAOG Conference 2015 as part of the annual gathering of the Fiscal & Administrative Officers Group for Community Foundations. The FAOG Conference 2015 will be held at the new Music City Center in Nashville, TN between October 11th and 14th, 2015. FAOG members attending the conference benefit from great learning opportunities with experts and vendors in the field and valuable networking with colleagues from around the nation.

Mr. Miller will be speaking at his session titled “Endowment Investing – The Latest Thinking”. Volatility and low returns from equity markets since 2000 led to a greater focus on managing risk with controlling volatility as an important objective. Following the Global Financial Crisis, this trend became even more popular due to concerns regarding economic conditions and the use of aggressive/experimental monetary policy around the globe. Michael Miller will discuss this history and how Colonial Consulting is advising clients to approach the challenges and issues in today’s environment.

Ms. Schultes will be an expert panelist and share her views and experiences on the panel titled “Investment Manager Diversity – Making a Commitment to Inclusive Practices”. Community foundations hold diversity and inclusion as important core values. Panelists will address the goals of diversity and maximizing return, highlight their progress in sourcing quality diverse managers and institutionalizing inclusive investment practices. Ms. Schultes will be joined on the panel by Erika Davies from the Association of Black Foundation Executives, Tedd Alexander from T. Rowe Price, Bert Feuss from Silicon Valley Community Foundation, and Bruce Myers of Cambridge Associates. The expert panel will be moderated by AmySeto, Executive VP and Chief Operating Officer of Baltimore Community Foundation.
